ARRVD Terms of Use
Please read these terms before using ARRVD. They explain what ARRVD does, what it can’t promise, and how the plans work.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to ARRVD, the family arrival app for iOS, and the services that support it (“ARRVD”), provided by futodama (“we”, “us”). By using ARRVD you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s terms that apply to apps from the App Store. How we handle information is described in the ARRVD Privacy Policy.
2. What ARRVD does
ARRVD helps a family confirm that a family member has arrived at a place the family has set up — for example, school, an activity or work. You choose the places and, if you like, the expected arrival times; ARRVD lets the family know when an arrival is confirmed, or when it hasn’t been confirmed by the expected time. ARRVD is not designed to show anyone’s live location.
3. Your account
You sign in to ARRVD with Sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple Account and device secure, and use ARRVD only with your own account. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
4. Families, Organizers and Members
- An Organizer creates a family, invites people to join, adds and manages places, chooses which Members each place checks arrival for, and receives arrival notifications.
- A Member joins a family through an invitation. A Member’s device confirms their arrivals at the places they are assigned to and shares those arrivals with the family.
- If you invite or add someone, you must have the appropriate authority or consent to do so — for example, as a parent or guardian — and let them know how ARRVD works. You must not add anyone to a family, or monitor their arrivals, without that authority or consent.
- Information shared within a family is visible to that family as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Limits of arrival detection
Arrival detection and notifications depend on things outside ARRVD’s control, including:
- GPS and location accuracy, and how iOS handles location and region monitoring;
- whether the app can run in the background, and the device’s battery, power-saving and other settings;
- location and notification permissions;
- network connections; and
- services provided by Apple, Google Firebase and others.
As a result, an arrival may be detected late or not at all, a detection may be wrong, a “not yet confirmed” notice may be sent even though the person did arrive, and a notification may be delayed or not delivered. ARRVD does not guarantee that every arrival will be detected or reported.
6. Not an emergency or safety service
ARRVD is not an emergency service. It is not connected to the police, fire or ambulance services, it is not an emergency location service, and it is not a medical service or a guarantee of anyone’s safety. Please don’t rely on ARRVD alone where someone’s life, health or safety is concerned. If you are worried about someone, contact them directly, and in an emergency contact your local emergency services.
7. Acceptable use
ARRVD is built around reassurance, not surveillance. You agree not to:
- use ARRVD to monitor anyone without the appropriate authority or consent, or to stalk, harass or harm anyone;
- use ARRVD for any unlawful purpose;
- interfere with, disrupt, or try to gain unauthorized access to ARRVD, its servers or other people’s information; or
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell ARRVD, except where the law allows it.
8. Plans: Free and ARRVD Plus
ARRVD is available on a free plan and as ARRVD Plus, a paid plan. Both include ARRVD’s core arrival features; the plans mainly differ in capacity, such as how many people and places a family can use. The current features and limits of each plan are shown in the app, including on the purchase screen.
9. Purchases through the App Store
- ARRVD Plus is purchased through Apple’s App Store using your Apple Account, and Apple processes the payment.
- The price, billing period and other conditions shown to you at the time of purchase apply.
- If ARRVD Plus is offered as a subscription, it may renew automatically under the conditions shown at purchase until you cancel it.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app, or your ARRVD account, does not cancel a subscription.
- ARRVD will provide a way to restore previous purchases on your device.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.
- When ARRVD Plus ends, features and capacity available only on ARRVD Plus may no longer be available, and the free plan’s limits apply.
10. Changes to ARRVD
We may add, change or remove features, or change plans and their limits, as ARRVD develops. If a change significantly affects how you use ARRVD, we’ll let you know in a reasonable way, such as in the app or on this website.
11. Intellectual property
ARRVD, including its software, design, names and logos, and the futodama name and brand, belong to futodama or its licensors. You may use ARRVD for its intended purpose under these Terms; no other rights are granted.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using ARRVD at any time, and you can delete your ARRVD account in the app as described in the Privacy Policy. If you are a family’s last Organizer, deleting your account also deletes that family and its shared information; other members’ ARRVD accounts are not deleted. We may suspend or end access to ARRVD for an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms, or where necessary to protect other users, the service or the law. Where reasonable, we’ll let you know beforehand.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We work to keep ARRVD reliable, but it is provided as it is and as available, and we don’t promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, futodama is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by the detection and notification limits described in sections 5 and 6. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We’ll update the date at the top of this page and let you know about significant changes in the app or on this page. If you keep using ARRVD after changes take effect, the updated Terms will apply.
